Do the MBL speakers still give a good sense of precise instrument localization even though they are omni directional? Thanks!

That listening space is HUGE! B&W is sure lucky to be able to fine tune their speaker positioning as they please : )

I just looked on the axpona website and it says almost 294 booths, 449 exhibitors, showing products from 446 brands.
Hope you’re planning on an early start today :)

Yes (yawn), we are getting ready to head out for a 9 AM private showing and will have a LONG day today.

This is a hot, popular audio show, and that is great but also creates productivity obstacles.
    • getting to sit at the sweet spot
    • people talking while we try to listen
    • noise, noise, noise, think in terms of a 70 dB noise floor, it gets about that bad
The MBL room did one thing VERY right. They have two adjoining rooms with different systems playing at once, and a sliding door separating them, and one person controls the music that plays on both systems simultaneously, so they don't "compete" with each other.

Keep an eye, or ear, out for that McIntosh MC2152 70th Anniversary 2-Channel Vacuum Tube Amplifier... ;^)

Final day. We had a very productive day yesterday. The REW Master Class was very well attended, followed by a demo and food at the JTR room, and a viewing of Spielberg's Ready Player One on the big screen. Good flick, good friends, good food, phenomenal audio and video... It was like Audio-Video NIRVANA in there!

    tesseract,
Thanks for stopping by the Danville Signal Processing room to give a listen to Hollis Audio Labs The Monoliths speakers and the write-up. Glad you enjoyed them.

Way to go guys... lots of great coverage and the GTG on Saturday night looked like a blast. Wish I could have been there.

Lucky me... as it turns out, I came down with a serious bout of bronchitis that started last Saturday... went to work Monday and Tuesday then had to go home the rest of the week. Still not 100%... so had I gone to Axpona, I'd been miserable for sure... couldn't have enjoyed it in the proper way. Maybe next year!

You guys did a great job covering the show, as usual.

When I was in Amsterdam I got the opportunity to hear the Avantegard speakers... I was blown away!

Had a great time at a great show. Just got home, put in about 1300 miles behind the wheel. Saw a lot of cool people and gear. Thanks for your support!

It was indeed a great weekend, a good time to catch up with audio friends and hear/see some fine audio gear.

I turned around and went south, put another 700+ driving miles on. Glad to be home and settled on the couch... until the next time, haha!

I have so many show pics to post, rooms I ducked in and out of. Who wants to see? :nerd:

I appreciate that. There are a lot of rooms that I just ducked in and out of, either to crowded to get a seat of too much conversation going on. I'll get some of those out this weekend, they are still fun to see. :sun:
