(January 19, 2021) Audio-Technica leveraged CES 2021's virtual stage to showcase a range of gear released during 2020, including several phono related products launched during Q2 and Q3. The following is a topline rundown of the company's audiophile oriented offerings. For more detailed information, visit www.audio-technica.com.

Audio-Technica released two new phono cartridges last year. The AT-ART9XI, Audio-Technica's latest flagship magnetic-core moving coil cartridge, is priced at $1,290. It utilizes dual moving coils aligned in an inverted "V" shape to deliver notable channel separation and exceptional imaging, while its 0.28 solid boron cantilever allows for precise tracking and resolution. Its sibling, the AR-ART9XA (also $1,290), shares similar design elements with the AT-ART9XI, but is a non-magnetic core cartridge.

The company also showcased its AT-LP120XBT-USB Turntable. This deck's $299 price tag should be a welcomed sight for budget-minded enthusiasts, and its Bluetooth capabilities, dual-magnet phono cartridge, and built-in phono preamp are perfect for convenience seeking vinyl lovers. And for those that want to capture their favorite records digitally, the AT-LP120XBT-USB can connect directly to a computer via USB.

Lastly, the AT-PEQ30 is a standalone phono stage that can pair with a turntable lacking a phono preamp, or serve as an upgrade to a turntable's existing built-in phono preamp. It's priced at a very reasonable $299.

On the personal audio front, Audio-Technica's offerings were headlined by the ATH-AWKT over-ear wooden headphones ($1,899). Featuring a gorgeous striped ebony "Kokutan" hardwood, listeners will appreciate the wood's ability to suppress unwanted resonances. Overall sound quality is driven by 53 mm drivers with a Permendur magnetic circuit and high-purity oxygen-free copper voice coils, while natural sheep's leather on the earpads and headband delivers serious comfort.

Other notable over-ear headphone designs include the audiophile-grade ATH-AWAS ($1,399) and portable ATH-WP900 ($650). And for true high-quality in-ear listening, the ATH-IEX1 ($1,200) utilizes a multi-driver system comprised of active and passive drivers for notable bass and extended high-frequency reproduction.

Audio-Technica's ATH-ANC300TW ($199) and water-resistant ATH-CKS5TW ($119) bring wireless performance to the table with Bluetooth 5.0 aptX connectivity. In addition to a stable audio connection aided by a special low-latency function, the ATH-ANC300TW also offers digital hybrid noise-cancellation via microphones positioned in front of and behind the driver.
