Does anyone have experience with ATMOS modules such as PSB Atmos speakers that sit on top of your main speakers? My ceiling is drywalled and I do not want to cut holes in the ceiling to run wires or put in speakers/

They work. I'd prefer ceiling-mounted direct radiators but, like you, I have constraints.

I have a pair of Klipsch RP500SA’s Atmos enabled speakers sitting on top oh my Klipsch RF7III mains. They work but not as well as i-ceiling speakers would. But if you’re limited due to building constraints then I think it’s worth the investment.

Well-regarded speaker designer Andrew Jones has said that they work better than ceiling mounted speakers, for flat ceilings. So I wouldn’t feel too compromised about going that way.

I wonder if that holds true for a stippled ceiling. I watched the video and what I got out of it is that it boils down to preference. Some of us like it more discreet by using ceiling speakers and others like Andrew like it less discrete and more enveloping by bouncing the sound off the ceiling. Problem is, Im new to Atmos, have a budget and have no clue as to what I would prefer. :dontknow:

I also own Klipsch atmos enabled speakers R-41SA that sit on top of my towers and they do work for atmospheric sound alright but not nearly as good as in ceiling speakers. If you want the best put them in the ceiling.

Almost all newer home construction uses strapping attached to joists, then drywall is attached to that. This allows for the phishing of wiring in all directions. So you could ceiling mount. About a days work.

That is a good deal and I think would serve atmos well if mounted at ceiling height.

I am using a pair of the PSB ATMOS speakers up front on top of my Monitor Audio Silver8 L/R speakers and a pair of the Atlantic Technology ATMOS speaker on top of my Monitor Audio Silver 2 L/R surround speakers. Work fine. Earlier, I had the KEFs but they are visually obtrusive and expensive.
