(January 16, 2023) Naim recently launched a trio of new components including a streaming pre-amp, a modernized take on a power amp champ, and an external power supply upgrade. Dubbed the "New Classic" range, Naim says all three make for a high-performance, eco-friendly audio experience.

The brains of the operation is the NSC 222, a CES 2023 Innovation Awards Nominee. This streaming pre-amplifier provides onboard access to Spotify, TIDAL, Qobuz, Apple Music, and Internet radio, with support for bitrates up to 32bit/284kHz. It also accommodates analog flavors with a MM phono stage.

Placing convenience first, the NSC 222 carries Naim’s latest headphone technology as featured in the multi-award-winning Uniti Atom Headphone Edition, for an elite solo-listening experience. It also carries a full-color 5.5" display, an illuminated volume knob, and multi-access control through the Focal & Naim App, the smart Zigbee remote-control handset (no line of sight required), or the unit itself.

The NAP 250 Power Amp has all the muscle needed to drive your favorite speakers. First launched in the mid-1970s, the NAP 250 is now in its sixth generation, featuring trickle-down technology from Naim’s flagship Statement amplifier. With 100 Watts per channel and full power regulation, Naim calls its latest NAP 250 version a "party-proof" design that runs cool even as volume levels are pushed hard. Other enhancements include the addition of true balanced XLR connections and an eddy-current circuit breaker between the speaker outputs.

Last but not least, enthusiasts looking to take their audio experience to great heights can recruit the NPX 300 power supply. When linked with the NSC 222, the NPX 300 disables the internal power supply for clean non-disruptive power. The result? A noise floor that hovers even lower than before.

“From designing in our best-ever performance at this level, to added features and flexibility to eco-friendly elements – New Classic products use less than 0.5W in standby – we’ve combined our 50 years of experience with the very latest technology to redefine home hi-fi,” said Steve Sells, Head of Engineering (Hardware) at Naim Audio.

All three models are shipping now, pricing is as follows:
  • NSC 222 - $8,999 USD / $11,999 CAD
  • NAP 250 - $8,999 USD / $11,999 CAD
