Too bad my AVR X4200 does not support it. Would have been a great addition.

I thought the same. So I ordered a MINIDSP...

Is use this software and love it. I came over from Dirac. Dirac in my AVR wasn’t very flexible.

Just used the Import filters from REW and it was a game changer! Basically, I did my entire workflow in REW and then had Audyssey be the implementer of the filters/times/gains...

Did you happen to save before and after REW measurements? What kind of issues were you looking to correct?

Yeah, it was my first attempt but it was a huge improvement. It balanced the left and right very well.

Don’t take my measurements as gospel because my skills are limited but below the room transition frequency it flattened it. That dip at 1000hz goes away if you move the mic ahead about 1’

correcting getting better sound and still using Dynamic EQ. I really like Dynamic EQ, I left Dirac to come back for it.

Between no Audyssey and the manual MQX audyssey, the decay times were substantially lower and the frequency response was smoother. Between Audyssey Auto-EQ'd and MQX/REW manual workflow the decay times were smoother and the frequency was substantially smoother. Also, the speakers were much more tonally aligned because the SPL with freqency response was aligned.

Spectorgram without processing (also, forgive the 60hz done, could have been the water heater or something)

Looking good! You really tightened everything up. More importantly, your ears are happy.

Looks like you’ve got a nice and heavy low-end, which is what I prefer. How many subs are you running?

Like all things in my set up… it’s complicated but I’m running 5, but 3 are summed to one, so according to the minidsp I’m running 3.

I have 3 DIY nearfield right behind the couch (Dayton 12” HO/HF on bridge crown xls 1502 per sub). The signal response for those is crazy because as soon as the frequency starts to get absorbed by the couch the signal drops off for my ears. So they really start to drop around 50Hz. I can’t EQ that out and if I do then the subs tactilely feel weird.

So my solution is to use 2 SVS micro 3000’s that crossover with the subs behind the couch. Those Micros are not very good under 35Hz as is. So basically using those to flatten the audio response while maintaining the tactile response was the goal. It was not easy for a multitude of reasons but it worked

Between that setup and my Polk L800’s I’m very happy
