Stepping to the demanding YYZ track, the dynamic demands were satisfied, the slightly wooly sound still intact. I suspect room setup and don't fault the 101 E mk II speakers.

Moving to the smaller room, the 126 pair gave a more intimate feeling, the speakers having a better lock on the room, with an obscure artist that Shazam did not know, Will Foraker, playing.

Do the MBL speakers still give a good sense of precise instrument localization even though they are omni directional? Thanks!

I just looked on the axpona website and it says almost 294 booths, 449 exhibitors, showing products from 446 brands.

Yes (yawn), we are getting ready to head out for a 9 AM private showing and will have a LONG day today.

This is a hot, popular audio show, and that is great but also creates productivity obstacles.
  • getting to sit at the sweet spot
  • people talking while we try to listen
  • noise, noise, noise, think in terms of a 70 dB noise floor, it gets about that bad
The MBL room did one thing VERY right. They have two adjoining rooms with different systems playing at once, and a sliding door separating them, and one person controls the music that plays on both systems simultaneously, so they don't "compete" with each other.

Final day. We had a very productive day yesterday. The REW Master Class was very well attended, followed by a demo and food at the JTR room, and a viewing of Spielberg's Ready Player One on the big screen. Good flick, good friends, good food, phenomenal audio and video... It was like Audio-Video NIRVANA in there!

Way to go guys... lots of great coverage and the GTG on Saturday night looked like a blast. Wish I could have been there.

Lucky me... as it turns out, I came down with a serious bout of bronchitis that started last Saturday... went to work Monday and Tuesday then had to go home the rest of the week. Still not 100%... so had I gone to Axpona, I'd been miserable for sure... couldn't have enjoyed it in the proper way. Maybe next year!

You guys did a great job covering the show, as usual.

I turned around and went south, put another 700+ driving miles on. Glad to be home and settled on the couch... until the next time, haha!

I appreciate that. There are a lot of rooms that I just ducked in and out of, either to crowded to get a seat of too much conversation going on. I'll get some of those out this weekend, they are still fun to see. :sun:
