Ok. I’ll give more... video quality was quite good. The film still has the visual grit of an 80s film. Kind of dirty... not squeaky clean... some of that has to do with the way the film was shot (some scenes have an abundance of blur). But blacks are really impressive... and brights/whites are super crisp. In fact, I thought some of the gun fire and explosions were too bright at the end of the flick (to note: I watched this film with PJ lamp on High, in a total black out room.

Audio was the same as the Blu-ray. Some bass impact... but comes across as rather bright. I wish there were a way to get dialog to be more throaty.

So video is a tick up... Audio is rather middling.

I love this film, so I really enjoyed watching it. But... BUT... I wish there was a magical way to give the audio a big boost.

Thanks for expanding Todd. While I loved Die Hard I’m not sure about dropping the coin at this time. There’s just too many ahead of it for me that I want. I did pick up Black Panther today and watched it tonight. Maybe I’m just tired but I wasn’t feeling it. The audio was a bit disappointing and sounded somewhat anemic? I can’t quite put my finger on it but it just didn’t sound all that dynamic. I had to really crank up the volume.

Hmmm... I totally understand. Superhero movies never really do it for me. I’ve tried to get through Wonder Woman on two occasions and I’ve not been able to do it :-/

I’m curious to checkout BP... but I’m hesistant!

I really liked Wonder Woman and am becoming a fan of Gal Gadot but, I must admit, I fell asleep during my first viewing.

I haven't watched a movie in several weeks now. It's kind of funny how the warm weather hits and I dread spending time inside. I've got a stack of new movies ready to watch, just haven't found time to enjoy them yet.

I’m the same way. I’d much rather be outside by the fire pit, grilling, bike riding, or just working on outside projects. When I do finally sit down I’m tired and if the movie doesn’t really enthrall me I get tired and lose interest.

Fury 4K. It was good despite the fact that I couldn't get ATMOS working until much later. And then when I got ATMOS working, I had video issues. Time to do some cable troubleshooting.

After the advice received in this thread, I went to one of two local cinemas that has a Dolby Cinema setup and saw Solo. The movie itself was good if not a bit drawn out at times. The video was much better than any other local cinema I've been to locally as was the audio. It also cost twice as much and was about 10-15 minutes further to drive. I'd have to say that it was borderline worth it. Makes me want to get Buttkickers for my home theater!

In the past few weekends, I've watched several big titles.

Avengers: Infinity War (theater)
Black Panther (UHD)
The Shape of Water (UHD)
Deadpool 2 (theater)
Maze Runner: Death Cure (UHD)
Game Night (blu-ray)

Avengers and Black Panther were both just kinda meh, in my opinion. Perhaps they simply just didn't live up to the hype - I may have reached the over saturation point on superhero movies.

The Shape of Water was okay. Very predictable, very well-acted, but I was surprised-yet-not-surprised it received the Oscar noms it received. It was fine, but obviously the Academy grasping at credibility among the arthouse crowd.

Maze Runner was fine. We originally saw it in the theater, didn't enjoy it as much as the first two, but it was fine.

Game Night was fun. Not as funny as I had expected based on the trailers and the cast, but I really enjoyed it.

Deadpool 2 was fantastic. It's the only big title I've seen in the last couple years that really lived up to its hype. Ryan Reynolds is brilliant in that role.

Also watched the Guy Ritchie take on the King Arthur story, which is still my favorite of the bunch. Fun movie.

The Matrix 4K was well worth the wait. Audio and video were fantastic and the story has aged well. The removal or lessening of the green saturation of the picture was a welcomed sight. I’ve always thought the audio was good but boy o boy that Atmos was spectacular!

Watched the new Star Wars Solo movie with the wife and it was so so. I was expecting more to the movie not worth seeing in the theater at all and the 3D was pointless

Isn't 3D dead yet? I think that almost all of them are just kinda so so since The Empire Strikes back. Though I did think Rouge One was pretty good, probably third best and arguably second best, but thats just me.

Watched Annihilation in 4K UHD today and found it enjoyable. Colors were downright stunning at times and the Atmos track was impressive. It’s a good watch for sci-fi fans.

Bladerunner 2049 - I really didn't care for it. Moved way too slow and was a bit long.

Hereditary was good but does not live up to the hype. To me it has more drama then horror. The story was good yet confusing at times. Acting was superb though.

Watched Game Night and the new Tomb Raider today. Game Night was hilarious and quite unexpected. Tomb Raider in 4K was also enjoyable.
